I agree. Plus Quentin Harris and Timmy Regisford were doing the whole soul cut rerub stuff so much better about 6 years ago, with their Shelter remixes of everything.

For me it's more just bland, identikit, commercial over-produced r'n'b that's indistinguishable from a million other formulaic packages. The form is stagnant.
