8 years ago i went to india to become a hindi pop star. it didn't quite work out, but i made some nice recordings, and had a blast travelling around asia making music. so i decided to try again, this time taking the harder but more sustainable route of getting a job overseas in the computer industry and working in asia while trying to become an asian pop star (running out of money in the middle of the process being a big problem with my original india plans) so i move to silicon valley to get a bit of job experience and contacts under my belt in preperation for working in asia. 3 years later i transfer from yahoo! in silicon valley to yahoo! singapore. i get a recording contract with bmg singapore and release a cd ("head massage", see below to hear) but singapore is boring as hell so i work and live in several other locations over the next 2 years: rio de jainero, kathmandu, bandung indonesia, and koh phanang thailand before settling in bali, where i am currently pretty happy to be living and working. my band, soulflip, is made up of 6 traditional indonesian musicians and dancers and myself on electonics. we are recording a new cd and a few videos, and are hoping to get new recording contracts in indonesia, and hopefully europe america singapore and/or austrlia if we should be so lucky...
