if y'all interested, we had a lil party on sunday and i've reviewed it
for you... Tom Baker told us that our last flyer got 'flyer of the
month' in some mag or other - DJ or i-DJ or Mixmag... anyone see that?
cos i didn't - which is a shame. if anyone's got a copy - think it was
May one (of an unspecific zine - sorry for being so unhelpful!) let me
know - cheerz....
Those of you who braved the onset of multitudinous chaos with torrents
of art form of boundless frivolity will still be buzzing from the poker
tip that was Subterfuge. Well we like to think so, as WE are. With
excess in mind, Sunday night came upon the Charterhouse Bar and there
was much havoc and general disobedience.
Co-conspirators on the night to which Subterfuge extends it's gratitude
includes the impromptu appearance of Anita Divine, who reminded us of
the European Social Forum - a not so catchy name for an excuse to
present a piece of art. And as we know at Subterfuge Central - that
could be ANYTHING! ESF is happening in October. punkvert are already
booked to do the visuals for Love Music Hate Racism and will be putting
on an event of their own...
The Legendary Jesse Belle managed a sublime transformation for the event
and showered the room in fruity sounds.
Tom Baker (or 'noddy boy bakerlite as announced by Tam Dean Burn, our
overseas compere), whacked out some funky, twisty shit.
We must thank you, the witnesses, for attending to our Punkvert AV piece
'Pretty Boy' with patience and aplomb.
The fabulously proportioned Gypsie Jones teased her way out of her
clothes for us and into her fluffy fans - and we're not referring to
your good selves, although many a heart and tongue was seen to melt
openly in the red lights.
Strobe lit anarchy ensued as Gob$au$age pummelled the room, driving
straight to the pinnacle of the bar and barely containing themselves
there. Between hurling obscenities and glasses, the Gob$au$age clan
delivered a throttling set to the mesmerised Subterfuge Disciples whilst
providing pleasingly abusive entertainment for themselves and the rest
of us.
It always seems calmer after electric shock therapy and now with the
room fully relaxed, dj Vlad threw a welcome retort, impaling us on his breakz.
The night was held together by the firm hand of Jock Scott who
entertained us with his poetry and rhetoric and was a fitting
replacement for our animal pal – Tam Dean Burn – who managed to give his
thoughts and opinions via the 'big screen’ this month.
Subterfuge extends a sharp slap on the arse to the appealing Door Whore,
Baz who wiggled her silver bottom very provocatively every time
Funkcutter or Candiflip came near. Or so it seemed to us anyway.
The next Subterfuge is on August 29th – 'it’s a bank holiday and we’re
gonna have a fuckin ball’
