only get an alsation if you have got someone home most of the time
because they get seriously bored and neurotic without company, and they
are big fierce dogs so once they begin to go off the rails they're a
problem, although they are sooooooooo lovely and intelligent and
downright cute...

you have to wash dogs, that's the worst thing, they smell bad and you
have to bath them to keep them from ponging really badly, like regularly
bath them... cats are self cleaning which is an advantage, and they
don't need walking, and also they don't chase sheep or get chased and
nearly killed by the local hunt if you live in the country, and cats
shit in other people's gardens where as dogs shit in yours and you have
to pick up their poo if you are out and about with them...
get a nice mongrel, they are less insane than pure breds, who are like
the aristocracy, too inbred to avoid being slightly unhinged...
