Essential Mixes

Weatherall 93 - Second ever essential mix, first time I'd hear the
beatless mix of Smokebelch, the fact it was mixed into Spastik was
slight bonus.

Farley & Heller 93 - Ricardo De Forces MC-ing all the way through,
Plastic Dreams, Hamilton Bohannon and There But For The Grace of God.

FSOL - 93 - Bits of lifeforms with loads of wibbly noises and bits from
Apocalypse Now

Slam 94 - From the vocal intro to the end, probably the most "complete"
essential mix.

Lisa Loud 95 - Making no apologies for this, handbag at it's best and
was on constant rotation in the house I was living at the time. Get
Your Hands off My Man, Rock da House, Tenaglia, Billie Ray Martin, Bucketheads.

Luvdup 95 - More Handbag - Delacy, Swag, EN's fabulous The Horn Ride
that made realise Tribal were bloody ace.

Farley and Heller 95 - All brilliant, just right at a time handbag was
getting too much, Tenaglia's camp cover version of The Beatle's Money is sublime.

Roger Sanchez 95 - Again more growing out of handbag with some proper house.

LTJ Bukem 95 - "Mind's start wondering - Walls start tumbling down"

David Morales 95 - And his mix of Twat Kay's Space Cowboy, good, good times.

Weatherall 96 - Deeeeep house, should be owned by everyone if not for
the Swordmen's Glide By Shooting, the best deep house record ever made.

Basement Jaxx 97 - An absolute diamond in a sea of Tong-live-from-Cream
shite. Prattled on about this recently so will briefly mention Banana
Kru's Same Old Show : ) The Ronnie Richards stuff, speed garage and an
old dub FX box all the way through.

Jeff Mills 98 - Was sharing a house in a bad relationship at the time.
In amongst the petty arguements and draining, point scoring, Jeff's
boshing onslaught was soon to become mine in the pissing off stakes.

Lottie 98 - Ahhhh house, Kenny Hawkes, Gentleman Thief, Sneak, and
Studio 54's ace Freak It

Doc Martin - Can't find the year, Fantastic remix of that Funky Green
Dog's song that goes "I feel so good, I, loose control and I" plus this
other jacking filtering thing that escapes me at the moment but used to
go doolally to at Smokescreen

Last one I got was a Laurent Garnier thing with Ursula Rucker at the
start and there's probably loads more I've forgotten. And while I don't
really recommend downloading Luvdup mixes from Kazaa I will say for ages
it was my main source of music, pity it got so shite. Also reckon TDK
must owe the beeb a few quid too.
