Anything good on TV?

I notice from a quick search of the archives that there was at least one "Breaking Bad" fan on Uk-D last year.
I think it is the best thing I have ever seen on tv
(having usurped "The Wire", which in turn hockeyed "The Sopranos", "The West Wing" etc)
British actors are doing well in American shows; Hugh Laurie in "House", Tim Roth in "Lie to me" and Robert (Begbie) Carlyle in Stargate Universe.
Weeds, Nurse Jackie and Rescue me are all superior to some of the shite I've seen in cinemas recently
Anyone got any suggestions?
Meanwhile, here is some music to water your plants to;

Hey D, good to see you back here. Looking forward to catching up next week and comparing how the ravages of time have treated our (dis)respective attic paintings. Pack a spare liver.
PS that link is quite mad

Really? I couldn't get along with it - after all the complex series over the last few years, there didn't seem to be enough going on with only one main character \ storyline. I was -beyond- bored.
Anyone got any suggestions?
If you haven't seen them yet:
- Battlestar Galactica (yes really. And I'm enjoying Caprica as well)
- Deadwood (despite being a 'Western', it is just amazing. The dialogue is positively Shakespearean - I've rewatched scenes just to listen to the words again on a number of occasions)
- Californication (surprisingly good)
This is a question of some considerable merit in the modern era of post-enlightenment, is it not?
I say post-enlightenment because humanity does appear to be regressing somewhat at the dawn of a new millennium. All highly subjective, of course, but is Ant & Dec really the pinnacle of tens, perhaps hundreds of thousands of years of human endeavor? Audience reach research says it is.

Doesn't seem to have dated at all, just as riveting the second time around.
Thanks Kirsty, I have followed most of the above shows except Oz, which I found too brutal. I fucking LOVED Ian McSHane in Deadwood and agree 100% about the dialogue. A crying shame that show only lasted 2 seasons
I am developing a fondness for Edie Falco in Nurse Jackie. It is interesting to contrast the relative positions of Walt's wife (Skyler) and Jackie and how their affairs (adulterous) are perceived by the viewer.
"Weeds" is back in a couple weeks. Pass it on.

TV is the methadone of the post-modern age.
I'm about to throw my set away, given it takes up space and I haven't watched it in months. I'd give it away, but that would just encourage the recipient to continue consuming the brain-deadening waves.
It'll be a happy day indeed the day I write to the TV licensing people. I may design a parchment scroll for the occasion.

They don't believe you, fine you anyway and you spend years refuting it.

More relevant than ever, IMO.

You say that like Methadone is a bad thing. Gonna need all the opiates we can get our hands on when Cameron's Big Society starts to crumble.
