Depends what you're after really? A couple of good city-centre boozers are the Duke of York (in an alleyway near the Cathedral) and The Crown on Great Victoria Street.

If you're interested in the politics of the place, then Taxi Trax (do a web search) drivers are pretty knowledgeable, and if there's more than one of you, fairly economical.

And if you want to see some murals, "the International Wall" is a good place to start. It's about 10–15 minutes walk from the city centre, head up Divis Street and onto the Falls Road, you can't miss it. It's as safe as houses, and now a major tourist attraction.

I can't recommend any decent restaurants, but they're likely to be in the centre, or to the south of the centre, in the Botanic/University district. Also in this area is the newly re-opened Ulster Museum (http://www.nmni.com/um). It's adjacent to Botanic Gardens, which is good for a stroll and a gander at the Victorian palmhouse. If you go to the Botanic Gardens, check out the new mural that some friends of mine did with members of the local Chinese community last month.

The funniest restaurant review I ever read was of a pizza place in West Belfast called Goodfellas. The back story is that they had had a bad review in the Irish press, and sued. The paper won an appeal, with the judge saying that providing the reviewer had dined there and the review honestly reflected his opinion, then the review could not be libellous.
So Giles Coren then wrote this
My favourite line is "If you’ve ever sniffed your finger after scratching your arse, and then done it again, then this dish may not be entirely wasted on you."
