depends what you heard. the latest ep was the mu-tron ep last november
but they've had a quite light poppy single out this year as well. it's
a bit of a cross between crunchy bass lines and soaring synths and
barked teutonic vocal demands and melodic choruses. (i can't do the
review thing, that's why i've left it to muzik journos to give it 5/5
:)

there's no bulgarian r'n'b on it tho, that was a bonus track on the
last single.

moroder/mantronix/abba/kraftwerk/numan/sterolab/blondie/ATR/add (n) to X
peaches/human league/black sabbath have all cropped up in recent reviews
as influences, which is about right

and while i'm doing the hard (soft?) cell, it's got 16 tracks so is able
to be all of those and more. now, call me biased, but it's probably
gonna be my album of the year

Either we are talking about two different Celestes, ie, the girl at
ClubM is maquarading as somebody else and faking her credetials or
we have both seen a different side to her as the girl I spoke to me was
more than insistant that she was single.

Appologies if I have cast uneccessary bad words about a genuine nice
person.

Yes, it does, first track in fact. Warped-up off-kilter hip-hop suddenly
hits you with 20 kilotons of cheesy oakey trance, then returns to biz as
usual.

Hi again,

I recently managed to get my hands on this tune. I realized that the mix
I have on the mixtape

SIMON MCLEAN "SPACE CADET" (Herbal High)

is not the same one as on this record.

Is anybody aware of any additional mixes of this tune, released on
either Stay Up Forever records or
another record label.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Peace&Respect

Andy

Hi guys,

I must thank everyone for helping me tracking down a tune that
Mark E.G. played at the last Slamming Vinyl party in London.

The only thing about this tune is I remember it being slightly different
i.e. allot harder.

It could have been the sound system/dj which made it sound this way.
Or maybe there is a mix that is not on the 12" I have.

The 12" I have is Overdose No: 070 and has the following two mixes on
it:

DJ Wag Mix
Flash Remix

If anybody is aware of additional mixes then please let me know.

Thanks again

Peace&Respect

That's not much though, is it, in the scheme of things?

No, but certain things were phases I think -

1) "I took 10 pills this weekend" "ooooh how clever"

2) Being religiously into ONE genre of music to the exclusion of all others

3) Arguing endlessly over whether a particular records fits into your genre

4) Evangelising E to all my non E taking friends (they've all tried it now)

5) 160 bpm all night

6) No sense of humour

What with staying in being the new going out, might I recommend the old
technique of taking a few records round your mate's place and playing
records back to back while chatting about Celebrity Big Popstars and smoking
yourself into a stupor.

Of course, once the sun comes out everyone comes out to play ...

Yeah. But I reckon, for me at least, after 10 years, it's just not the
most interesting or useful music around anymore. I don't believe any
dance music has a big enough heart, enough soul or guile to mean
anything in the big, scary, complex, variegated future that looms. Its
roots are too shallow, too dependent on unity. Dance music is a
consensual escape, but what's needed now, more than anything is a, I
dunno...but for the foreseeable future, it's as dead as disco ever was.
But yet, it still stumbles along like Chernenko or Andropov, you know,
that near-dead dude. I get all my thrills from fucking great chugging
punk rock guitars and songs, or mad bombastic hip hop, or fucked up,
smacked out, double speed james chance jazz, or classical. Dance music -
house, jungle, techno, garage, hyperthis or hyperthat - it's just
packaging, the shit you throw away.

Mind you, I'm pissed, I'll most likely spend all tomorrow listening to
old skool, on a whim.

heard the one about MAW playing in the seated room at the end? one of them
was so fat he couldn't even fit behind the booth! he had to pass tunes to
his mate from beside the ockey, and then leant over to do the eq.
