nice one John. noticed what's playing at 21 mins? ;0)
Erm.. no, and having listened again I'm still none the wiser. Should I consult a doctor?
Nah sorry ... i was a bit early.. sorry, that never normally happens...
try 23 mins in... Its UKD's fave techno classic, Jaguar. Sounds great too.
Oh so *that's* Jaguar! Gotta say, I never liked that track, it never really goes anywhere. It's like a middle 8 expanded out into a whole track. If I was out dancing somewhere and it came on I'd be marking time and shouting silently for the next record to hurry up.
Mind you, that latin mix is probably the best I've heard it but that's not saying much.
For the record, and just to throw some more petrol on the 'classics' bonfire, there are a couple of other tracks that kill my mood when they come on.. Lil' Louis - French Kiss (boring slowdown) and String of Life (the original ploddy version). Off to the bar every time.
I'll go back in the grumpy box now.... :)
This is classic example of one mans gold another mans shit... i remember my first Jaguar moment totally out of context on a shitey stereo in a car. i had to pull over to see if could find a pen in my car as i just had to find oiut what this was.. hoping the radio would say its title and lickily it did... the melody just consumed me on the spot.. after what u just said im sure ur thinking "what melody?" - ha.. i can kinda see what u mean about it being one long middle 8 but for me it is the greatest middle 8 ever written ;0)
for the record, both French Kiss and Strings I listen to regularly. It is definitely not the emporers new clothes cos I got into these on my own in a bedroom aged 16/17... blew my little teenaged mind and have stayed with me since... when i finally heard them in clubs... things just got better from there. different taste init... there are loadsa massive tunes ppl rave about I dont get at all..
i remember when UKD celebrated as one about Happy, Max Sedgley and Tom Churchil came on saying he'd heard it and thought it was shite... i remember my jaw almost hitting the floor...
