So YOU had fun, good for you. I hope you and the carcase of what's left
of Big Chill continue to be happy together. Clearly you are one of the
"right people".Cheers. all it takes is an open mind.
Good luck in finding your organic bread stall.
Oh I think my mind is quite open. The point that seems to be being
widely made is the mass influx of 15 yr olds, spoiling what was a good
festival. I've nothing against teenagers, I was brought into the rave
scene by my two kids, mainly my 16 yr old daughter in 1990. For years I
drove round the country and partied with her and a big group of friends,
no age problems either way. Some grew up and moved on, I never lost
interest. I'm perfectly happy with youngsters coming to the Big Chill
(as they do at Glasto), but FFS I do mind being kept awake all night,
all weekend by them. Each to his own but a little Peace Love Unity and
Respect please. Not much evidence last weekend.I'm also not so keen on the music that's being programmed for them
(Lily, MIA, etc), it doesn't float my boat or bake my bread.Mmm, bread.
got to delurk for this one up till two years ago i was happy to go out to clubs with my son but there comes a point where you realy are to old sounds like your aproahing that point john rave is 20 years ago mate its all moved on the reason i stopped posting was my total seperation from what the kids listen to
like you we still enjoy a festival but tend to go to more small mixed music ones now rather than dance/electronic events god ive even taken to growing veg and building my own campervan
back to lurk
Hi Steve. Yeah you could well be right, I've been persuaded by a bunch of mates to go to a smaller festival (Shambala) at the bank holiday. No idea who's on or what to expect but they tell me to relax, it's random and I'll enjoy it. I hope so.
I really miss Glade this year, for the total immersion in all kinds of techno. I didn't enjoy wandering around at BC till late afternoon waiting for the stages to wake up and play something interesting, I found myself longing for some crustie soundsystem in a forgotten corner somewhere banging out some acid tekno, but then that's not what Big Chill is about.
Never happy eh? Have you finished that van yet?
