I know Reading and Leeds (other festival republic 'brands') are pretty much youth centered but they also run Lattitude which is the opposite.

Yep. Marketing and business consolidation reasons. As an event ending up with spare capacity, I understand that a sizable proportion of last-minute cut price tickets were made available to large numbers of da kids.
From a business point of view this made a lot of sense in ensuring future (full price) ticket sales to a huge, new demographic for one of Festival Republic's core businesses. The 'Skins' market is large and growing and it's been captured as a market for this event utimately for Mama Group Plc.
