Not sure if anyone has read Liddle's rant, the Twittersphere is alight with condemnation of his piece here :-

Actually qualifying Liddle's claims is proving difficult, many of the statistics I have don't appear to correlate with his rant. He doesn't quote any sources and fails to go into any detail.

The City of London police quote that from Jan 2000 to Dec 2007 the breakdown of ethnicity of the suspects or offenders for knife crime is as follows:

White: 39.3%
Black: 25.0%
Asian: 10.7%
Other: 3.6%
Unknown: 21.4%

Liddle also fails to note the correlation between crime and socio-economic backgrounds that places Afro-Caribbean men firmly at the bottom and the evidence which suggests that white victims of crime are nearly twice as likely to report it to the police as black victims.

There is nothing new here, the Daily Mail and Sun both ran pieces claiming areas of London were turning into lawless ghettoes more familiar to New York over 30 years back.
