I know this is days old and everyone is prob past it but the hypocrisy here is unreal.

They ask for the facts. The scientific evidence leads to the fact that booze is more harmful than weed, E's or trips.

Hmm? this isn't the message we want to send out... So, we lie about the facts? Unbelievable!

(was dying to send this madness while UKD was down the other day)

I'm sure the fact that the government are in the pockets of the tobacco and booze industries bears no relevance to this story...

I know the facts and i have some idea about the money that is generated from these industries but the part of me that is outraged by such a possibilty finds it hard to accept... prob cos I know of the absolutely fucked up corruption that is going on in India... So fucked up I cannot believe more isnt done about it by human rights groups..  i always think things are much fairer here. Well, they def' are but it makes me sick if what you're implying is true.

The power that the corporate lobbies wield over our government, its ministers and MP's is staggering - how else would all those voted out of power end up as non-exec board members? It's a  very lucrative process.

The criminalisation of dance music culture in the mid 90's had considerable input from the alcohol lobby. We weren't drinking anymore. Once criminalistion of our culture was complete - hey presto! - the genie of alcopops, binge-drinking, violence and a public health nightmare literally came out of the bottle. But, it's OK because BigAlcohol increased their private profits while we got the bill for clearing up the mess.
