I know - the price of hardware samplers is completely and utterly bonkers now. Some very tasty hardware synths can also be got for a song, ditto effects boxes.

you can buy an S1000 for 20 quid today!! WTF! i am gonna get one for
nostalgia if nothing else... Hmm? no actually. House is full of enough
shite how it is ;0I know – the price of hardware samplers is completely and utterly
bonkers now. Some very tasty hardware synths can also be got for a song,
ditto effects boxes. If you wanted to dodge the
soft-sequence-synth-sampler route and go hardware, there really hasn't
ever been a better time... you could probably have a minted S3000 or
E6400 (or mabye both!), a couple synths and an effects box or two, all
out of £500. Totally bonkers!
seriously thinking about it tho at the same time I am thinking bout getting rid of all hardware kit... so gotta decide one way or th other.. do lov the thought of all my old stuff just stacked up in a rack if just for purely aesthetic value if not anything else... god the S1000 was such a massive massive part of my life – its almost as important to to me as a ZX Spectrum. I have a Spectrum in my living room on a shelf that brings a smile to my face every time i see it...
they should make mini toy versions of classics. Sure theres enough of us techgeeks to warrant it... as Bob Moog put it in the film Modulation, "synths are the Hotrodding of the 90s."
Dave, get this!
OMG! or (FMSW)
