that's very interesting

a friend of mine recently commented that he'd been looking at New Scientist etc recently to find out what physicists were up to, and the answer seemed to be pretty much exactly what they were up to 10-15 years ago - that the cutting edge questions in the subject hadn't really been resolved and the problems were more or less the same... which he thought was kinda curious. but if they've gone and invented Transparent Aluminium, that definitely counts as Progress.
